About Me

Takekazu Kitagishi, Ph.D., is a researcher on Human-Computer Interaction. He is currently a Research Scientist at ZOZO NEXT Inc. (since April 2022), where he develops haptic technologies for fashion and retail applications. His research spans Human-AI Integration and Machine Learning, with a focus on haptic interfaces and textile-based interactive systems — see the Research page for more.

He holds a Ph.D. (Apr 2022–Mar 2026) and an M.S. (Apr 2020–Mar 2022), both in Applied Computer Science from The University of Tokyo, advised by Prof. Jun Rekimoto and Prof. Noboru Koshizuka, respectively. His doctoral work investigated end-to-end transmission interfaces of fabric tactile sensations using machine learning and electrostatic adsorption.

He has carried out collaborative research between ZOZO NEXT and academic partners — including The University of Tokyo's Rekimoto Laboratory, Cluster, Inc., and The University of Tsukuba's Ochiai Laboratory — since 2023, and has served the HCI community as an IEEE VR 2024 Student Volunteer and a CHI 2026 poster reviewer. He works primarily in Python and PyTorch.
